Danner Waterproofing Gel
Add water repellency without sacrificing breathability
Repeated soaking and drying of leather can damage the fibers, causing boots to become stiff and eventually ruin the snug fit. Danner Waterproofing Gel blocks water from the outside without compromising breathability. Boots with a GORE-TEX liner are waterproof, but treating the leather is important in order to prevent the creation of water spots between the leather and the GORE-TEX liner. We do not recommend using Danner Waterproofing Gel on nubuck, suede or rough-out leathers as it will darken the color.
Danner Waterproofing Spray
Nubuck, suede and rough-out leathers no longer have their own naturally-occuring protective barrier. It's important to waterproof them regularly because these types of leather are more susceptible to damage without proper care. Our Nubuck and Suede Waterproofing Spray won't cause them to darken in color, and is breathable, which means it blocks water from the outside while letting moisture escape from the inside. This is nice for all boots but is especially important for Gore-Tex styles.
Safe on fabrics like Cordura® and Nylon.
When buying premium waterproof products which use materials such as suede, nubuck or leather, it is key to their longevity that they are looked after correctly. This includes regularly waterproofing them, to prevent the effects of excessive soaking and drying, and keeping the fit and feel of your leather products as great as it was when brand-new.
