Made to a pattern taken directly directly from Yarmouth Oilskins archive this updated recreation uses a modern lightweight wax not available when it was originally created but perfectly suited. Advantages of the modern fabric are that it’s hand washable with a wonderful soft tumbled finish and a gently aged appearance. The patina will develop over time and just get better and better. The Hooded Smock is unlined, with an internal draw cord, and a sturdy brass zip. It has generous deep welt pockets with a buttoned storm flap, and a three piece hood . Yarmouth Oilskins Mechanics Jacket : Navy
Taking inspiration from the Yarmouth Oilskins 1905 catalogue , the Mechanics Jacket was designed to be hard wearing and durable. It has a quirky high curved chest pocket, which is mirrored on the other side as an inside pocket, profile stitched to the front. Again with french seams and herring bone tape internals it’s designed to last a lifetime. The Mechanics jacket is cut from a slightly heavier cotton twill and is made in a brighter navy.
