In the late '80s, hiking boots stepped off the trail and became fashionable as well as functional. The Free Spirit combines a retro look inspired by that era with modern tech for a hiker you can pair with a daypack or your favorite pair of jeans. It features a dual-density midsole that's firmer around the edges for stability and softer in the middle for targeted traction. A GORE-TEX liner defends against deep puddles and sudden downpours. Triangle lugs on the outsole give you lots of surface contact for reliable grip on a variety of surfaces.

Using a Trailguard TPU shank and an EXO Heel System, the Trail 2650 is lightweight, provides stability on challenging ground and utilizes a Gore-Tex liner for waterproof protection.

Nubuck, suede and rough-out leathers no longer have their own naturally-occuring protective barrier. It's important to waterproof them regularly because these types of leather are more susceptible to damage without proper care. Our Nubuck and Suede Waterproofing Spray won't cause them to darken in color, and is breathable, which means it blocks water from the outside while letting moisture escape from the inside. This is nice for all boots but is especially important for Gore-Tex styles.

Add water repellency without sacrificing breathability

Repeated soaking and drying of leather can damage the fibers, causing boots to become stiff and eventually ruin the snug fit. Danner Waterproofing Gel blocks water from the outside without compromising breathability. Boots with a GORE-TEX liner are waterproof, but treating the leather is important in order to prevent the creation of water spots between the leather and the GORE-TEX liner. We do not recommend using Danner Waterproofing Gel on nubuck, suede or rough-out leathers as it will darken the color.

With seven inches of height for ankle support and Danner Dry waterproofing, the Recurve will keep you in the wild and on the hunt longer.

Made in the Danner factory in Portland, Oregon, the Mountain Pass GTX was created to be a lighter weight and more versatile hiking boot that still reflects classic Danner styling. Built with light hikes and city streets in mind, the overall design is inspired by Danners original Mountain Light with an updated construction method that integrates the shank, midsole and lasting board into a single piece. This new, unified platform, combined with a low profile Vibram outsole, allows a significant reduction in weight and an out-of-the-box comfort that doesn't come standard with most classic hiking boots.

Danner Dry 100% waterproof barrier allows moisture to escape without letting water in, keeping your feet dry and comfortable all day long.

Removable OrthoLite Footbed Three layers of varying density are combined for maximum cushioning and support. The entire footbed is made of open-cell polyurethane for better heat dissipation and air circulation.

Vibram® SPE Midsole This rubberized EVA midsole maintains the same cushioning properties as traditional EVA, but is more durable and won’t break down as easily. This technology enhances rebound, comfort and support.

Vibram® Escape Outsole Custom outsole for our Explorer 650 features self-adapting lugs and specially formulated Megagrip compound, this outsole provides incredible grip on both wet and dry surfaces.

Vibram® Kletterlift Outsole Specifically designed for comfort and durability; the heel provides superb shock absorption and the rubber compound guarantees great traction and stability on both wet and dry surfaces.

Stitchdown Construction Handcrafted to provide a wider platform, our legendary stitchdown construction offers increased stability underfoot. Many of our stitchdown boots can be recrafted.

How It Fits The 650 M last offers a women's specific fit with ample room through the toe box while maintaining exceptional support and stability. This women's specific fit is based off our popular 650 last used for many of our classic styles and offers the most universal fit for everyday wear. Please note this last fits slightly long and we recommend sizing down a half size for best fit.
